Hopefully,
more frequently, we usually end up somewhere in the middle. It can be hard to not let our imagination run
with us, bringing all kinds of potential into our imagination. We manufacture situations and circumstances
and can be completely lost within them even though they are not real.
We may
think that our lives are about to take a turn for the worst and picture many different
scenarios that may transpire. We may imagine that we lose our jobs, have a
marriage breakdown, get into an accident, cause relationship issues with friends
and the list goes on and on.
What actually
transpires in likely far from what we conjured up in our minds. We can worry excessively, become anxious,
cause dis-ease, etc.
It is best
not to get carried away with our imagination as it causes unneeded concerns or
potential let-downs because what we thought would happen didn’t or couldn’t
materialize. Worry only accomplishes our
enjoyment of the moment but never has a productive influence.
I am sure
many of us have thought about how life would be if we won the lottery and built
this up in our minds and when the final draw happened, we were truly
devastated. Our minds can take us down
many different paths. If we took a step
back, it is quite interesting to watch as a spectator where the mind try to take
us at times.
In the end,
it is important to experience what unfolds without living it a million times in
numerous scenarios created by our imagination. We can do our best to avoid unwanted
outcomes, if we actually have a part to play in that outcome. We have lessons
to learn, and it is so much easier and healthier to let life lead and teach us. You might be pleasantly surprised at what
unfolds.
My point is
to “live in the moment”. The moment holds all that we need and is not anticlimactic.
Avoid unnecessary, fabricated anxiety or
expectations. Where life takes us is exactly where we need to go.
