It can be hard work and it could be so much easier if someone else starts things. We may even feel we are not up to the task.  We cannot and should not wait for others to initiate. If an idea surfaces and there is potential for positive results, take that first step and begin. 

 

We can make a difference in our world.  We do not have to be followers, and we are good enough to make a difference.  We are leaders even if we underestimate ourselves.  Give yourself a chance. 

 

The right idea can snowball once it gets rolling.  We are not here to sit back and be spectators.  We are here to live and living is being in motion.  Make things happen.  Kindness, love, and affection can have profound effects if this is the route we take.  If someone is struggling, why not take a shot at helping them move in a different direction, if they are looking for help?  If someone is lonely or afraid, why not be the one that eases their mind or brings the comfort of friendship?

 

Do not sit back when opportunity knocks. Make a difference.  We do not know what lies ahead until we take that step. Be the forerunner. Be a motivating factor.  Be the light that radiates out into our world and lights the path.

NEPTUNE SEXTILE NATAL NORTH NODE

MORE THAN A FEELING

Our feelings are often reflective of our thoughts, but sometimes intuition plays a role. 

 

We get the feeling that something is about to happen and at times it does. Other times, it does not and we know that our imagination was in control.

 

Our intuition can warn us of potential danger.  We know that little voice that says, “Stop! Think about what you are about to do”. Listen to your intuition!

 

That little nudge can also be from our guides. The question is, “do we listen?”  We always have free will.

 

I am always brought back to years ago, cutting down a tree. As the tree fell, a little voice inside told me to stand still.  The 40-foot tree had two large protruding branches which came down one on each side of me.  The smaller branches attached to one of the larger branches scraped my head as the two large ones boxed me in. If I had moved trying to get away from the falling tree, I would have been seriously injured or worse, but I listened and stood still.

 

Others have had similar incidents such as taking a different route to work one morning to find there was a major accident on their normal route or deciding not to go out with friends for some unknown reason, only later to find out there had been a fire at the club. The list goes on and on. Pay heed to the warning you receive but don’t live in fear.

 

Sometimes the message is instantaneous, like mine was, and sometimes, we have some time to digest the information that is coming our way.

 

It takes practice to distinguish between messages and imagination, but we can learn to decipher the difference. It’s more than a feeling.

SUMMER SOLSTICE 2026

In the Northern hemisphere, we will be celebrating the summer solstice on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 4:24 a.m. EDT. The summer solstice signals the longest daylight of the year. In my area in central Ontario, we will experience approximately 15 hours and 36 minutes of daylight.  The further north, the more daylight time and the further south, the less daylight time.

 

This powerful solar energy can recharge every ounce of our being -- our spirits, minds and bodies.

 

All things are energy and energy is interconnected. Some individuals are more in tune and are quite aware of these influential external energies such as the summer solstice. With or without this awareness, all living things are affected by the position of the planets at their birth, by the continual movement of the planets through life (transits), by the influence of the rotation of our earth including the changing seasons and any other shifts that occur in nature.

 

Guided by spirit/our higher self (call it what you will), we live our truth, both during the easy flow and the more challenging life lessons. How we utilize the energies available and our attitude and focus toward each and every event determines our experience.

 

Take advantage of the strong solar energies of the Summer Solstice to push forward. Use the more aggressive energies of the Sun to catapult onward and allow yourself to bloom into your own true beauty. Rise above the chatter of your thinking mind (and the relentless outside chatter around us) and simply allow life’s energies. See the world around you for what it is without judgement.

READY FOR THIS JOURNEY

We all go through varying stages.  Some seem to last a very long time, while others pass by too quickly. 

 Change is guaranteed, so in one way or another, we are all preparing for a new direction. 

 

Some tend to hold on to the familiar and struggle to move forward.  They are quite comfortable with the way things were even though change is required to clear the way for something new to blossom. They fear the unknown and the uncertainty.

 

Others reach out for the new path with open arms.  They are happy to move out of conditions that have been challenging and, although they may be fearful, they understand that it is time to change direction. With this attitude, the gate to the new path is unlocked.

 

Life is change, and we must “allow” to make the inevitable journey easier. There are many paths we travel throughout life but each one ends. We will learn from these changes and adapt, and although we might not be sure of where we are head, we will adjust. There is a new phase of our existence waiting for us.

LIFE REALLY IS NOT SO BAD!

Is life moving at a magical pace? 

 

Are things going so well you struggle to believe it this can happen to you?

Maintain this positive momentum. This moment is perfect.  It is important to stay in the moment rather than anticipate what is to come. If we cannot appreciate what is here now, how can we appreciate what will be?

 

Your life may not be perfect, in your opinion, but in reality, it is exactly what you need in the moment.

 

Take time to reflect on all that is in this moment with gratitude.  It may take some time for you to recognize that “life really is not so bad.”  This is when your eyes can be opened to the good or perfection that surrounds you. When your eyes are open, you regularly reflection with appreciation and more begins to unfold.  You might have to look deep initially but the door is beginning to open.

 

Life will still happen to all of us, but we also know that we must experience life, all of life, no matter how we choose to look at it.  Our attitude is what matters.  Life really is not so bad. You hold the key, open the door to gratitude.

OBLIGATIONS AS A PARENT

Our children are our children regardless of their age.  We will always be Mom or Dad to our kids, although as we age, the gap certainly begins to shrink.  In some cases, our children become our best friends, after all they have been with us since their beginning.

 

As they mature into themselves, it is important to remember that as we made our way through adversity and learned valuable lessons so will our children.  We are their parents but, at some point, we must step back, trust in the seeds we planted and let them learn through life’s experience and their own judgement.

 

This can be a very difficult task, as we feel we must advise and help in whatever way we can.  Reassure them that we are always there for them. The lessons they learn through experience are the most valuable and the ones that they remember. 

 

Do you remember when your parents tried to advise you? 

 

Most of us felt they were out of touch and interfering.  Your children will likely feel the same way.

 

We do have obligations as parents and we do our best.

 

The world they are growing up in is different from the one we grew up in. Life was easier on some levels and also more challenging on other levels.  

 

Be the example they need. Nothing speaks louder.

 

Remember you are human. If you made mistakes when they were young, acknowledge the mistakes and then let go.

 

Every day is a learning experience. Our obligations as a parent are to teach by example and to love and reassure them that we care. They too will make mistakes just as we did. Forgive them and forgive yourself.
