THE ASCENDANT PERSONALITY

The Ascendant is our face to the world.  It is how we present ourselves to others especially when we first meet.  It is our outward expression.  Although this is our outer personality, once we become comfortable with others, we often allow our Sun Sign energies to shine through too.  The Sun sign, among other things, is who we are on the inside. 

 

Our Ascendant personality will help determine what we reveal about our inside personality. 

 

For example, someone with a Capricorn Sun sign is often soft-spoken, introspective and business oriented, but if they also have a Leo Ascendant and perhaps several planets in the fifth house. which is ruled by Leo, this individual will come across in a much more vibrant manner than what their Capricorn Sun sign might suggest. This example personality will still be business oriented and ambitious, but when they walk into a room, others will notice them and they will not be subdued unless other factors in the chart indicate otherwise.

 

The Ascendant (Rising Sign) is calculated by the date, time and place of birth. 

 

It is believed by this Astrologer that over time as we mold into ourselves through life’s experience, and we amalgamate the energies of both our Sun sign and our Ascendant personality.  Of course, the Moon which deals with our emotions, Mercury which has to do with our thinking process and communication techniques along with the rest of the planets, signs and houses in our astrology chart make up who we are, which is why it is so important to have the Natal chart prepared using an accurate birth time and location.

 

The Sun, Moon and Ascendant clearly and strongly define who a person is and how they represent themselves.

LUNAR ECLIPSE AUGUST 2026

The Lunar eclipse on August 28, 2026, (Full Moon) is in the sign of Pisces at 4°. 

 

The penumbral eclipse begins at 9:24 p.m. EDT on August 27, will reach its peak at 12:12 a.m. EDT on August 28 and the penumbral eclipse ends: 3:02 a.m. EDT.

 

Lunar eclipses are emotional in nature however when in Pisces, this will be an even more emotionally impacted period.  Those primarily affected by this positioning will either have a planet or point in their Natal Chart within orb of this Lunar Eclipse by Square, Opposition and/or Conjunction. 

 

Much will depend on which planets are involved and the houses being affected. 

 

This event often includes a time when something come to a head from an emotional perspective and either an ending is needed or a massive change must take place. 

 

In the sign of Pisces, the ability for intuitive perception is enhanced. Things may not appear totally clear, and deceit and/or vagueness may be part of the picture.

If by chance the mystical side of life seems to be enhanced, be sure that what you are feeling or perceiving is not a result of imagination.  As mentioned, Uranus and Mercury are both involved by challenging aspect, so the mind will analyze all that is in place and it may wonder but Uranus suggests that a shift must take place.

 

With the Lunar Eclipse August 2026 allow stressful situations to end instead of fighting to maintain these unsustainable conditions. Listen to your intuition but not your imagination. Act with intension not with reaction.

SUN IN VIRGO 2026

The Sun moves into the sign of Virgo on August 22, 2026. 

 

If your Sun is between 1” and 9° 59” in the sign of Virgo, you are considered a double Virgo.  If your Sun is between 10° and 19° 59” Virgo, you are a Virgo and will have some Capricorn tendencies, and if your Sun is between 20° and 29° 59” Virgo, you are in the 3^rd decan (or decanate) and will also have some Taurus tendencies.  These are the three decans of Virgo (as with all signs) and the house placement of your Sun will also be influenced by the natural ruler of the house in which it resides. 

 

This is a perfect example of why some Virgoans identify strongly with Virgo tendencies (example Sun at 1° Virgo and in the 6^th house) and others do not (example Sun at 12° Virgo in the 4^th house).  The Ascendant and our Moon signs also have an impact on our personality. 

 

Regardless of where the Sun is placed by degree and house placement, the Sun, which is your inner personality and always represents us well, constantly holds prominence in the chart, especially the way a person is internally.  We identify with our Sun sign even though some might not agree with this statement.

 

Virgoan individuals seek perfection.  They like to have their house in order, so to speak and if by chance it is not in order, then you know there are some internal issues going on.

Virgo is a Mutable, Earth sign suggesting that these individuals strive to build something worthwhile in their lives.  They are practical and adaptable and, in most cases, do not like change.  Many are quite health conscious and look after themselves through proper diet, weight control and hygiene.  For most Virgoans, exercise or a somewhat vigorous lifestyle is what they seek.  Usually, they like to keep themselves busy and have relatively high standards from themselves.

 

Many Virgo individuals can bend with life’s circumstances.  They are pliable and often resilient and want to rectify any situation that needs adjusting.  Much goes on behind the scenes on internal level, and the mind is quite busy as Mercury is their ruling planet. Much will depend on how Mercury is aspected in the birth chart, however, and the sign and house that it resides in.
