SUN IN TAURUS

On April 19, 2025, the Sun moves from the cardinal, fire sign of Aries into the fixed, earth sign of Taurus.

 

It should be noted, if you were born at the beginning or end of a zodiac sign (each sign has 30 degrees) you are considered cusping the sign. As a result, you will take on the energies of the preceding sign (if born at the beginning of a sign) or the next sign (if you were born at the end of a sign). It is important to know what degree your sun sign is to establish if you are cusping your sun sign.  

 

The Sun has an orb of 16°; so for example, if you were born at 2° Cancer, you would still have your Sun in Cancer and Cancer would take up about 10° of your sun sign but your sun would also take up about 6° of the the previous sign of Gemini. As a result, both signs would characterize your inner persona.

 

With the Sun in Taurus, your inner personality would represent reliability, consistency, dependability. You would be a deep thinker (Mercury will help to define this), slow to anger, although once provoked can hold on to grudges for an extended period of time.  You would be rarely late for work, or rarely miss a day, even when sick unless really ill. You are diligent with your responsibilities.  You are in it for the long haul and process deeply everything that you are experiencing, often keeping much of that inside.

 

Because your ruling planet is Venus (also shared by the sun sign Libra), there is often an enjoyment of the more finer things in life.  A nice home, comfortable surroundings, a reliable car (possibly new or near new if the expenses allow) and many Taureans prepare for retirement early in life. 

 

A reminder, we are talking about a clear definition of Taurus without any other indicators (planets, angles, aspects, etc.).

 

Taurus people are earthy and pleasure (depending on how you view this word) is important.  They love beauty, elegance and most are deeply romantic and when making love, Taureans are quite expressive and passionate.  They are usually quite loyal and once they find a suitable mate, they are with them for the long haul.  They are slow and steady when it comes to commitment. 

 

Taureans usually have strong bodies and can weather the storm of illness because of their resilience; however, much depends on their mental attitude about life (Mercury’s positioning will help define this). 

 

Taurus individuals are steadfast and true to anything they commit themselves to in life.

 

Depending on other factors in the chart (rising sign, MC positioning, the Nodes and other factors within the framework of the birth chart) many Taurus individuals are here to learn about the practicalities of our earthly experience.  Money is important, as is relationship commitments for Taureans. They live in the moment but prepare for a solid foundation.

 

Find a friend in Taurus and you have them for life, unless you do something to really hurt them.

SUN IN TAURUS 2024

On April 19, 2024, we move from the Cardinal, Fire sign of Aries into the Fixed, Earth sign of Taurus.  The ruling planet of Taurus is Venus, and Taureans are generally warm and charming individuals because of the influence of the planet Venus.  They can be social but also prefer to be by themselves at times.  Most are well-grounded and are considered stable, structured and reliable.

 

Taureans want to achieve in life but also realize that it takes time and work to get to where they wish to be.  They slowly strive for financial security, and some become attached to money ventures and beautiful objects.  The feeling of owning something provides them with a sense of security and many begin to start saving at a young age.

 

They are naturally sensual and seek out the physical because they are attached to what is real.  Anything that seems out of reach or beyond what might be considered normal or stable, they will try to avoid.  They don’t like change and will often go with the flow but at the same time remain steadfast with their values.  They don’t like to create waves and want things to have a sense of reliability and structure to them.

 

Much of what they acquire provides them with a sense of self-worth as there is a need to feel secure.  Once they begin to acquire, they will have a hard time letting go.  They like what is comfortable and change is not high on their list.  They are considered stable, and they seek stability. Taureans seek structure and reliability.  In most cases, they are loyal once committed to whatever they seek out, whether that be an idea or a person.  They push ahead with their ventures and become fixed and steadfast in their approach.

 

The Sun sign has to do with our personality and what motivates us.  It is also tied to goals and aspirations.  It is who we are on a very deep level and does not necessarily reflect on the outside, at least when people first meet us. 

 

At the end of April 2024 transiting Venus moves into the sign of Taurus and makes a conjunction with those with their Sun in Taurus. This contact will last until Venus moves into Gemini on May 23, 2024.  The energies of this contact will greatly depend on what degree the Taurus Sun is in the chart.

 

Venus will be accentuated in the sign of Taurus and could enhance the Taurean’s ability to acquire material objects that are desired.  Perhaps they are thinking about buying a home or a car or perhaps they are thinking about a new relationship or building on an existing one. These are all potentials that might surface during this timeframe.  Much will depend on the house involved and other aspects of transiting planets at this time.  The house position shows the area of life that is reflected.  Other planetary links speak of other energies in place.
