NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN 2026

On January 18, 2026, we will have a very active New Moon at 28° 43’ in the sign of Capricorn. It is considered a very active because it is surrounded by Conjunctions. 

 

It has the transits of Mercury and Mars at 26° Capricorn and Venus and Pluto at 1° and 3° Aquarius, respectively making aspects to the New Moon.  These planets are within the suggested range of 3° and Pluto is at about 4°.  At the same time, we have transiting Uranus making a Trine at 27° Taurus and the transits of Saturn/Neptune at 28°.  These latter two are making a Sextile to the position of the New Moon.  These are powerful indicators of a heightened energy which can last for up to one year.

 

Although the effects of the current New Moon will not be fully harvestable until the Full Moon occurs in Capricorn some six months from now, this is the best time to set your intensions and begin new projects.  The results will bring fruition again in about six months, but much will depend on how much effort you exerted working towards achieving these goals. This is especially highlighted with the influence of the sign of Capricorn.

 

Your intensions should relate to the energies of Capricorn as this is the sign of the New Moon.  As a result, you can set intensions influencing career objectives. This could include beginning your own business, or pushing towards a promotion and gaining recognition for your work ethics and diligent efforts.  It would be beneficial to get closer to those in positions of power, particularly authority figures and your superiors from whom you have either earned respect or who have earned your respect.  You can learn a great deal from these individuals, but you will have to be persistent, diligent and patient as things will likely take their time moving forward.

 

Mars and Mercury, being Conjunct to the New Moon’s position, suggest that you will have a good idea on how to maneuver your way forward.  Mars will push you, and you must make sure that you do not rush things, even though you may want to.  The Trine from Transiting Uranus can bring you the unexpected, and it may work in an unforeseen manner, often taking hold when you least expect it.  Saturn and Neptune, being Conjunct one another, will insist that you take a realistic view of your goals, but at the same time, your imagination may provide insight into the best way to promote your ideas.

 

Uranus, Saturn and Neptune are all positive elements and the energies they provide offer greater opportunity for success as time passes. 

 

The House position of the New Moon will play an important role in the energies.  The house signals the area of life best suited to promote your objectives.  The houses connected to Transiting Uranus and Saturn/Neptune will play a powerful role as well.

 

The strongest period for those that have planets or angles within 3° of this New Moon position (Capricorn 25° to Aquarius 1°) will be three days prior to the direct contact of the New Moon, which will be January 15 and up to and including three days after (January 21) although the influence is felt for about two weeks and longer for those that are sensitive to outside energies. Look for results in approximately 6 months, and don’t forget that the energy you put into your intensions will be reflected in the harvest you reap. 

 

You can make a list of what you wish to accomplish as intensions often work better when we also have them in the written form. It makes them more real.

 

With the New Moon in Capricorn 2026 be diligent in your efforts and learn the art of patience. The likelihood of achievement is much higher because of all the other planetary influences.

TAURUS NEW MOON 2025

On Sunday, April 27, 2025 @ 3:31 p.m. we will experience a New Moon in the sign of Taurus at 7°. 

 

This New Moon will affect those with any planet or angle within a 3° orb of this placement by Major aspects only.  The strongest of these aspects, in order of significance, would be the Conjunction, Opposition, Square, Trine and Sextile.  Just so this is clear, we will use the Conjunction and Opposition for example without any reference to the planet or angle involved in this article.  So, a planet or angle from 4-10° either by Conjunction (in Taurus) or Opposition (in Scorpio).

 

A New Moon by definition is when the Sun and Moon form an exact conjunction with each other.  This signifies the beginning of something new in life.  In approximately six months when the Full Moon is in the same sign (Taurus in this case), we reach a culmination point of whatever energy and direction we put into our goals.

 

With a New Moon in the sign of Taurus and depending on the house where it is located in your astrology chart, this will be the starting point to implement more structure into your life.  This in turn creates more stability and something that can be reliable over time.  Taurus works slowly but meticulously and without restraint. Taurus will pursue whatever it intends to put in place with much vigor and enthusiasm although sometimes it is kept under wraps and goes without notice by others.

 

This focus with a Taurus influence may have something to do with finances and security as a whole and may be viewed as material based especially if the second, sixth and tenth houses are involved in the equation.  The second house deals with financial security and security within, the sixth house may have something to do with those you work with and the working environment and sometimes health-related matters, while the tenth house may have something to do with the career specifically, with your goals and aspirations and tied to your life’s status. 

 

If the first house is involved, then this will be very personal in nature although others will likely be aware of what is unfolding.  If the seventh house is involved it will likely have something to do with marriage partnership or business associations.  If the third house is enhanced communication and speaking your mind or holding back may be part of the process, and if the ninth house is involved it may have something to do with litigation, travel, your life’s philosophy and religious inclination or spirituality.

 

Of course, the whole chart needs to be analyzed for other significators within your chart during the time indicated.  Other transits will play an important role in the overall picture of what is happening personally for you during this time frame as well. 

 

With the Taurus New Moon, 2025, seek out whatever brings structure and stability for you in life.

 

Again, this New Moon will be very relevant to those with important connections to its placement.  Does it affect your chart?

ARIES NEW MOON 2025

This Aries New Moon on March 29, 2025, at 6:57 a.m. EDT marks the beginning of a needed change for something significant.  The Aries New Moon will also be a partial solar eclipse which will be visible locally.

 

Quite often the energy of an eclipse also marks the ending of one thing making way for the beginning of something new. 

 

Ask yourself what needs change? 

 

You must also accept the changes that will be brought forward.  This is or these are needed and sometimes occur because of events outside of your control.

 

An Eclipse (and it does not matter whether it is a Solar or Lunar eclipse, although the Lunar eclipse is more on an emotional level) will be beneficial although it may take some time to recognize its energies’/change’s benefits.  Sometimes things happen out of the blue and they are not expected.  Important events tend to bring things to the surface.  You may find that during the Eclipse you reach what some would call a turning point, and once reached, there is no looking back.

 

An Eclipse must affect (make contact by aspect to planets or angles) your chart for there to any an influence to you personally.  An Eclipse that falls within 3° (some astrologers give it a wider orb of influence of 5°) to any planet, any angle in your Natal chart, lines up with either the Solar chart or the Progressed chart will have an impact in your life.  Eclipses are not to be viewed as bad or good, for that matter. They are energies pushing for required changes that take hold in life because this change is required.

 

You may find you have more integrity than normal and can do things that you might not have been able to do prior to the influence of this New Moon/Partial Solar Eclipse.  In many cases, it is best to wait until after the eclipse has completed its course before making important decisions.  The decisions may affect you in personal terms, especially with Aries as the point of interest. Others may also be affects because of your decisions or actions. 

 

It is time to move forward with your objectives however, and life is about to change the course of events and bring honesty to the surface.  The truth shall reign, and it sometimes happens very quickly.

 

This is the time, because of Aries being the sign of this eclipse, to push for what you need personally.  This should not be presented in such a way that ego is involved or that others are hurt intentionally, but what we do will affect others (keep this in mind). 

 

Important people may enter or leave your life at this point, but there is a reason for this. Eventually, time will reveal why this took place.  Accept what unfolds and know that it is for the best, no matter how it looks under the current situation. 

 

A solar eclipse’s impact can last for several years, but the most intense time will be the first 12 to 18 months.  Much will depend on which houses are involved in your chart, the energies in place and the overall condition in the birth chart that is affected by this positioning. This could be challenging or favorable for now but always beneficial in the long run. 

 

With the Aries New Moon 2025 and this partial solar eclipse, have patience and know that it takes time for things to advance, to be understood and seen clearly. The events or changes, however, may likely happen quickly.

ASTROLOGICAL HOUSES AND THEIR EFFECT ON THE PISCES NEW MOON

We continue with our look at the New Moon in the sign of Pisces at 9°.  See www.holmastrology.com/post/pisces-new-moon-2025 .

 Today, we will focus on some of the houses where this New Moon may be located in our Natal chart and how the house energy will influence the New Moon’s energies.  Check your chart to confirm where the Pisces New Moon is located.

 

If the New Moon in found in the first house, this suggests something of a personal nature which affects us emotionally, especially if this placement also incorporates the Natal Moon which will enhance the already intense nature of this positioning. It may affect your health and likely in a more positive manner.  Because Mars is part of the equation (again please read our previous post for details), you may feel more energized and may start something such as an exercise program that will help vitalize you.  This may be quite vigorous or intense and could involve martial arts, weightlifting, etc.

 

In the third house, this may indicate that perhaps you begin a writing or reading project.  Perhaps you decide that it is finally time to put your thoughts into words and start to write a book.  This will likely take some time to put together and change the course of your everyday activities.  Perhaps siblings and/or schooling are involved on some level.  One thing is for certain, it will involve communication and learning one way or another.  If Mercury is part of the interlinking energies, this will be enhanced, but if Saturn is part of the process, things may be delayed or obstructed in some way and often hard work is implied.

 

If the fifth house is involved, this may have something to do with your children, or you may be starting a new romance.  Having more fun and the enjoyment of life will be enhanced if Venus is involved as well as love and affection and perhaps attending to more socializing events.  This can be the time for your heart to grow through love and romance, but this placement does not guarantee that the relationship, if this is what is taking hold, will become one that moves into a marriage type experience. It may be just for the moment, but you should enjoy one another and know it is in the moment that counts.

 

We will look at one last possible placement.  Let’s say that this New Moon is in the tenth house, the house of career, goals and life status. If so, then these areas may be affected.  The tenth house may indicate that with a strong push to achieve you can make yourself known to your superiors for your hard work and a genuine concern for those around you, especially if the sixth house ruler or planets within this house are affecting your New Moon’s positioning.  Your goals and aspirations may also be highlighted and perhaps because of an engagement or marriage, especially if the ruler of the seventh house or planets within the seventh house also play a part in what is taking place, your status is changing.  Others may notice and you may gain recognition in some manner if positive energies are in place.  This is a good time to reach your objectives and push for good results.

 

(Let’s not forget to incorporate the energies of Mars being Trine and Jupiter being Square into all the above indicators as they can have a profound effect as well.)

PISCES NEW MOON 2025

On February 28, 2025, we will be graced with a New Moon in the sign of Pisces at 9°.  This New Moon makes a Trine to Mars which is at 6° Cancer and also makes a Square to Jupiter at 11° Gemini.

 

A New Moon takes place when the Sun and Moon are conjunct. The house that is being affected by this placement and the sign that it takes place in will be important to delineating its energies.  These placements speak about how energy will reveal itself, determined by the sign, and in what area of life which is determined by the astrology chart’s house where the sun and moon are located.

 

For this placement to have an influence in your life, you will need to have planets or angles within 3° of this placement either by Conjunction, Opposition, Square, Trine and Sextile, with the first three aspects having the greatest impact. The tighter the orb the stronger its influence.

 

New Moon’s mark the beginning or the start of events or the push towards either an achievement or an area of life that matters to you at this point in your life.  In approximately six months from now, when the Full Moon is in the same sign (Pisces in this case), the culmination of what began now during the New Moon will reach maturity if the necessary work has been carried out.  Whatever effort we put into making things happen will be reflected in the fruits of our labor.  Now is the time to plant seeds in the garden of life.

 

This Pisces New Moon will likely have something to do with emotions and sensitivity and may be tied somehow to the gifting of our time and efforts.  It may be attached to intuition or an inner knowing and sometimes fear and anxiety can be a part of this due to our concern about how things will work out.  There may be insight and an awareness that stems from within which may be tied to the spiritual or psychic realms or our creative nature. 

 

If the Square from Jupiter has other indicators in the natal chart that might hinder the effects of this New Moon and the aspects to it then the foreseen outcome may be exaggerated.  However, if there are few tight challenging aspects within the framework of the birth chart then Jupiter, being of greater benefit, can enhance things and work well in your efforts.  (Squares or Oppositions from the outer planets to natal positions can suggest difficulties, while Trines and Sextiles can indicate easy flow and opportunities.)

 

The Trine from Mars pushes us into action and offers easy flow and potential gain from our efforts.  Mars is always about energy, in some cases directed energy and in other cases an energy push from outside sources.  The Trine aspect suggests that the actions taken during this phase will likely be optimistically received.

 

Plant emotional, compassionate and/or psychic/spiritual seeds in the garden of life during the Pisces New Moon 2025. Nurture the seeds until the Pisces Full Moon in six months from now.

AQUARIUS NEW MOON 2025

The New Moon on January 29, 2025, which is 9° Aquarius, marks the beginning of a Lunar Cycle.  Each New Moon occurs 29 ½ days apart and marks a time of new beginnings, fresh starts, change, and planting new seeds in the garden of life.  Sometimes we may not be too sure about where we are heading and so we set goals and turn inward for some answers.  All New Moons and Full Moons evolve much around emotional interaction although the sign that they are in and the aspects they receive from other transiting planets at the current time also have an influence.

 

When the Moon is in Aquarius, the emotions may be more subdued than say if the New Moon were in Cancer or Pisces. As a result, this time may not be overly emotional in nature.  This does not mean that we are cold emotionally under this influence, only that we react more from an intellectual level than an emotional one. 

 

There is concern for humanity’s journey and the ways of the world. On some level, we may interact, even if only from within, with the thought processing.  We may reflect more on our fellow human beings and truly want to help, and so we may try to assist those in need.

 

On a personal level, this is often a time of change and setting goals for the future. There is a great deal of contemplation taking hold in our lives under this influence.  The mood is generally hopeful especially since transiting Jupiter at 11° in the sign of Gemini is making a trine to this positioning of the New Moon.  This can lead to a furthering of our ideas and making plans that should tie into the Full Moon six months from now also in the sign of Aquarius.

 

We can clarify our goals during the energies of this New Moon (which is often during the first month of the new moon) and we may turn inwards for the answers or guidance that we seek.  This can be quite private as we pause and reflect on where we might like to utilize this energy.

 

The houses that are involved (New Moon’s position in the natal chart) and aspects with transiting Jupiter and any links we have within a three-degree orb of influence within our natal chart will help define the areas of life involved in the process.  An experienced astrologer can aid in uncovering what this might mean for you personally.

 

Much of the influence during this timeframe (the end of January 2025) has connections with Venus, Neptune and the North Node all of which are in the sign of Pisces rendering in emotion and sensitivity as well as, in some cases, psychic intervention. Saturn is also in Pisces (although not connected to the previous planets and North Node) and does initiate stability in the process. 

 

We also have transiting Mercury and Pluto making a tight conjunction in the very early stages of Aquarius suggesting transformational interaction creating change connected to human consciousness and its evolution.  Pisces’ and Aquarius’ energies are linked to human consciousness. Hopefully we see a much-needed change for mankind as we move into the realm of Pluto in Aquarius, Neptune in Aries and down the road Uranus in Gemini.  These are all powerful energies linked towards change and evolution.

 

With this Aquarius New Moon 2025, there is concern for humanity’s journey. We may reflect more on our fellow human beings & truly want to help, and so we work to assist those in our immediate environment because we can.

NEW MOON DECEMBER 30, 2024

Today, December 30, 2024, there will be a New Moon in the sign of Capricorn at 9°.  For those with their Sun within 3° of the 9° position in Capricorn or between 6° to 12° in Cancer, this post will be significant for you.  

The Sun in Capricorn will make a conjunction and the Sun in Cancer will make an opposition to this New Moon. These two aspects are the most important aspects when speaking about the Moon’s cycles (New and Full Moon).  The Conjunction will be the stronger of the two.

 

The New Moon signals the beginning of a new stages or focus and we will focus more on the conjunction with this post.  This is the planning phase and the initiation of whatever you decide to move forward with.  In Capricorn, this might have something to do with business although much will depend on the houses involved in your personal chart.  It could focus on business regarding marriage (7^th), family (4^th), career (10), etc. 

 

This is the time to set your goals. Be ambitious to ensure that your intensions reach fruition.  In six months from now when the Full Moon is in Capricorn, you will reap the rewards of whatever effort you expended, so make sure you implement full effort in whatever you set out to achieve.

 

Capricorn has to do with diligent effort and knowing that it takes some time to reach our summit. Have patience and perseverance even if there seems to be setbacks or time delays along the way.  Your efforts will be rewarded.

 

Transiting Saturn makes a wide Sextile to this position at 14° Pisces and transiting Jupiter makes a quincunx to this position at 13° Gemini.  Both placements will assist the process and Saturn, although it always implies that you will have to work hard to reach your objectives, provides security and stability once you reach your goal. 

 

Jupiter, although in quincunx, suggests that you may have to make some alterations along the way.  Adjustments are likely but with Jupiter the chances of success are greater.  Jupiter can make things flow more easily and create opportunities that may not otherwise have been in place.

 

You may be able to do this on your own, but assistance from those in authority will never hurt. 

 

The rest of the chart will have to be analyzed to confirm if there are other benefits or hindrances also in play.  Keep working towards your goals at this time and don’t let anything stand in the way. You may find more rewards than you expect.

 

With the New Moon December 30, 2024 plant new seeds related to Capricorn’s energies in the garden of life. Nurture these seeds and harvest your rewards under the Capricorn Full Moon in six months.
