Jupiter in transit is always a good energy.  The most challenging position it will make is when it is in difficult aspect to Saturn.

“Overdoing” is likely the most probable energy associated with Jupiter Square Natal Mars or perhaps believing that you will succeed without engaging reliable and realistic plans.  This can be particularly true if Neptune is also part of the bigger picture.  You might think that what you are doing will have profound effects and that it may lift you to heights unimaginable.  These ideas or beliefs will be expanded, and you may be somewhat disappointed by the outcome, although this does not mean that you should not follow through. SATURN OPPOSITION NATAL MARS

Saturn is about restriction, delays, setbacks, challenging situations but also has to do with hard work, building a solid foundation and returns on diligent efforts. 

 

Mars has to do with energy, vitality, drive, ambition (ambition which also ties in with Saturn), pushing its way through adversity, and meeting challenging conditions.  Mars also has to do with the sex drive, forcefulness and aggressive actions (this all largely depends on the sign it is in within the natal chart).

 

The meeting of these two energies suggests a lot of push and pull.  The desire to advance with force but at the same time the need for security which can be linked to what is comfortable and therefore suggests a stop and go situation.

SATURN SEXTILE NATAL MARS

Currently (September 2024) transiting Saturn is hovering in the mid degrees of Pisces. Therefore, those individuals with their Natal Mars in the mid-degrees of Taurus or Capricorn will be experiencing Saturn sextile Natal mars in their chart. 

 

Saturn, during this time frame, will be in retrograde until November 14, 2024 when it will be at 12° and then continue back into its forward motion.  This can have a long-lasting effect in your chart depending on the degree of your Natal Mars.

 

Saturn while in retrograde is much more favourable than while in its direct motion.  Saturn always suggests hard work but also builds solid foundations over time.  Saturn restricts and holds back progress and makes sure that you are doing each step correctly, one at a time. TRANSITING SATURN TRINE NATAL MARS

Transiting Saturn currently (September 2024) is in the sign of Pisces.  Pisces is a sign of spirituality, psychic energies and is not well acquainted with mundane earth matters.  It can resort to escapism, has creative endeavors or abilities, is feeling and intuitive. This intuition is likened to feelings rather than the thought process.

 

Saturn has to do with structure and discipline and is known as the teacher of the Zodiac.  It speaks of hard work, sometimes restriction and delays, and has its endeavors tied to business or working towards achievement.

TRANSITING JUPITER SEXTILE NATAL MARS

Transiting Jupiter can have a profound effect while making a sextile to your natal Mars.  The timing usually lasts about 6 to 8 weeks depending on whether Jupiter moves into its retrograde cycle. 

 

Currently (August 2024) Transiting Jupiter will move into retrograde on October 8, 2024, and it will be at 21° in the sign of Gemini.  Its stationary period is about one day.  This stationary period is very intense for those who have a planet at this degree, especially those that have major aspects within 1-3° direct from the natal chart to this position. 

 

Jupiter’s influence, while in retrograde, will last many months and those affected will feel its intensity when it crosses the degrees of influence in their personal natal chart.

 

We are discussing the sextile in this post, but the trine is also similar to the effects of the sextile, and both are energies we hope and wait for.  The sextile implies opportunities that will be presented and that we need to act to take advantage of.  The sextile is a positive aspect and indicates openings and prospects for when things might flow in a more constructive manner.

 

Jupiter is the most opportunistic planet in Astrology. Jupiter provides growth, expansion, good luck, rewarding experiences and allows things to move forward.  When applied to challenging situations like someone experiencing a fatal disease or illness with no prospect of recovery, it can also indicate the ending of situations pushing things ahead so that no further suffering takes place.

SUN IN ARIES

On March 19, 2024, our Sun moves from the mutable, water sign of Pisces into the cardinal, fire sign of Aries.  Quite the change from a sign of spiritual, passive energy to a sign of energetic, enthusiastic drive.  From a sign of “what can I do for my fellow man, leaving my own needs until last”?  “How can I help”? to the energies of Aries focused on “what do I need to do in order to move ahead personally and then how can I use this to assist my fellow man to achieve what they have set out to do”.  Pisces are gentle, passive, and compassionate while Aries are enthusiastic, energetic, and pushy.

 

The ruler of the sign Aries is Mars, the planet of energy, action and assertiveness.

JUPITER OPPOSITION NATAL MARS

We will focus on Transiting Jupiter Opposition Natal Mars in this post.

 

The transit of Jupiter, unless it moves into retrograde motion, lasts approximately three weeks.  Jupiter is about expansion, opportunities and growth through life experience or life lessons. 

 

Mars’ energies are about drive and ambition and wants to move forward via direct action.  Sometimes these energies need a push but under most conditions, they are assertive on their own. 

 

The opposition often involves others and can define itself by overaction, excessive energy and sometimes too much drive and ambition.  Sometimes with this combination of Jupiter and Mars, we need to set limits and realize that we can make impulsive decisions that might not work in our favor in the long run.

 

You will likely feel more assertive and enthusiastic about your endeavors under this influence.  You may have to watch for promising more than you can deliver because of this enthusiastic push to make things happen.  Others may feel this push from you and take advantage of your outgoing nature under this influence.  You do seem to be a source of opportunity and drive and may send out energetic vibes that can make others feel that you can bring good luck and opportunities their way (as well as in your own direction).  Sometimes we need to hold back and review what we wish to accomplish before moving forward. In many cases, however, things just seem to work and fall into place.

 

Using this energy in positive ways should be your focus and if you have something that needs work, especially any fears that you might have, now will be the time where you can find ways to overcome them. 

 

Jupiter, regardless of the type of aspect, will most often bring desired results through actively seeking resolution or associated action.  There are big opportunities for growth, but you will have to be the push but don’t push too hard especially if you oversee others.  The drive that you have right now may not be shared by your co-workers or assistants.

 

In case Jupiter does go into its retrograde cycle, you may find that it passes over your Natal Mars three times.  Once when it initially moves across the area, a second time when it moves over it again in retrograde and the final time when it passes over it once again when it returns to direct motion.  The initial connection when Jupiter reaches our Natal Mars is usually the strongest and the time to move ahead.  The second time it moves across while in retrograde might be the best time to make plans for what you need to do. When it crosses Natal Mars for the last time, you may make the final decisions that were initiated in the first pass and finalize things.
