TRANSITING JUPITER OPPOSITION NATAL MERCURY

Mercury in the natal chart sits fairly dormant until it becomes activated by a Transit or Progression.  Much of its energies deals with mental conceptualization and communication.  The mind is ruled by the planet Mercury and our reasoning abilities and schooling often are influenced by the planet Mercury, its sign position, house location as well as the aspects from other planets it receives in the Natal chart.

 

If Mercury is poorly aspected or better still challenged by natal positioning this often indicates someone who may have difficulty concentrating, difficulty with the written word, perhaps difficulty with speaking (i.e. stuttering), etc.  This can indicate challenges with communication in general.  This is likely corrected and dealt with accordingly as they age and learn to adapt to these difficulties. 

 

On the contrary, those with a well-aspected Natal Mercury may have no problem speaking and relating to others and may even have teaching capabilities.  They may be well educated and may also be studious.  Some may have literary abilities becoming writers, public speakers and so forth.  The mind works well, and the IQ may be higher than the norm.  They may be good at solving problems, able to communicate easily or easier than others and in some cases (Mercury in Scorpio for example) may be considered deep thinkers.

 

Jupiter is nearly always considered a positive aspect in that it engages itself through expansion and growth on many levels.  It often indicates opportunities when in transit, and life flowing in a more pleasant manner.  Jupiter can bring important forethought when connected to Mercury, an ability for increase in oral communication, speech and vocabulary explorations and more ways of communicating.  The mind and the intellect may be enhanced, and new ideas may come to the surface easily.  New ways of doing things may also emerge as well as opportunities for growth in fields such as literature, education, clergy or religious inclinations, spirituality, and life’s philosophy learned through life’s experience.  We can move forward in great strides when Mercury is stimulated by Jupiter.

 

Although the Opposition is considered one of the more challenging aspects in Astrology, not many planets can affect Natal Jupiter negatively. While in transit, it often produces potential for growth and expansion on some level.  The house position and sign will affect the overall potential of how this may unfold and once again the aspects that Natal Mercury has to it will play a big part in the eventual unfolding of any potential. 

 

It should be noted that even those with a challenged Mercury in the natal chart over time can turn things around and make their personal positioning of Mercury work in their favor.  Challenges in life often produce the best results because they force us to work harder and learn from our shortcomings. 

 

It should also be noted that with the energies of Transiting Jupiter in Opposition to Natal Mercury, others people will often be part of the scenario as the energies are unleashed.  Oppositions often suggest that other people are involved, sometimes in a challenging way but other times it can be in a more gentle manner.

INTUITIVE INSIGHT

Many individuals question if intuitive perception is real or if it is their imagination playing with them.

 

I personally believe, we receive messages or perceptions from the other side. Most certainly, there are times when our minds interfere with these messages. Our minds can distort messages and at times we can misconstrue the message. Sometimes the messages are a scent, a smell, symbols or even words.

 

Some have received complete messages instantaneously.  Messages that would take you, or I, a couple of moments to speak. Everything is received and understood instantly. The message is often clear and concise.

 

Each of us, however, receive these messages in our own unique manner.

 

We can receive warnings of imminent danger, insight into someone’s life with information that can assist them with their struggle, premonition on someone passing on, etc. Some clearly see spirits that have passed over and others see faint images. Others hear spirit and some simply feel their presence.

 

These may be guides providing us with information that can aid us or others along life’s path. I believe they are open to dialogue although it is not always easy for some of us to contact them.

 

Spirits and guides are never far away in my experience.  We are never alone.

 

Intuitive insight comes from these connections which we all share on some level of understanding.  The key is to not let the mind interfere with the message. The more we allow, stay open and pay attention to these feelings, intuitions, and insights, the clearer the messages become.

PLUTO OPPOSITION SATURN

We will focus on Transiting Pluto Opposition Natal Saturn.

 

T Pluto is about transformation and in some cases revolution which speaks highly of the upcoming change from Pluto in Capricorn to its eventual placement in Aquarius. Pluto in general insists that those influenced by its energies have a close, deeper look inside, be honest in this review and make appropriate changes where needed.

 

Pluto can instigate power struggles and ego disputes, but it calls for change at its deepest levels. In Aquarius, Pluto would hope that mankind begins change with humanitarian concerns especially at the moment (November 2023).  It may touch on revolutionary response to the wars and the humanitarian needs and hopefully bring about peace talks although any transformation comes with some resistance, and we can expect some turmoil before resolution can be found.

 

When it comes to an opposition from T Pluto to N Saturn (which some will be experiencing at this time), we can expect that there will be some resistance to the changes taking hold in their lives.  Saturn wants to hold on to tradition or situations even when they are outdated.  It has great perseverance and determination although Pluto is even more determined and certainly has the insistence that we meet whatever demands are currently required to make the necessary changes.

 

Change is apparent for those affected. Even if there is resistance, major alternation will be made. Pluto will overpower Saturn. Those influenced by these energies and having any authority may be swayed by others to make the required changes and they can take a leading role in moving ahead.

 

There will be power struggles, but changes need to be implemented whether this is for the greater good or if they are of a personal nature (as indicated in your chart).

 

Holding on to the past serves little purpose with Pluto’s influence and what was comfortable yesterday may not be that comfortable now.  Transformations are in place and others will very likely have an impact on how and where these changes take hold (opposition energy).  Perhaps you need to transform things on a personal level, but this will affect others, or perhaps others are pushing for transformations and in a big way. Recognize the resistance to the change and how you’re wanting to hold on to what was in place prior to this time.  Changes are in store and although they may take some time to unfold, you will eventually begin anew and realize that what took place (which may take up to 2-3 years to unfold) was exactly what was needed.

SCORPIO NEW MOON

We will be experiencing a New Moon in the sign of Scorpio @ 20° on November 13 @ 4:27 EST.  This New Moon is highlighted by its opposition to Uranus and its conjunction with Mars.  Transiting Mars and Transiting Uranus are in tight opposition to one another. 

 

This Scorpio New Moon sets the stage for new beginnings often associated with occult energies (due to its placement in Scorpio).  All water New Moons are “feeling” focused but this positioning of the Moon being in the third decant suggests that not only is there the influences of Scorpio, but there is also a connections to Cancer.  This proposes that the family might be involved as well. There is intensity and the potential for power struggles because of the tight connection with Mars.

 

Pluto rules Scorpio, and Pluto and Mars together can indicate quite the power struggle. There will likely be no halfway measures associated with this connection. 

 

The opposition from Uranus suggests that we expect the unexpected and that change may be part of the process. Also, an awakening on some level has great potential for unfolding.

 

There may be sexual overtones connected with this New Moon’s placement.  Don’t forget this is the start of something that will reach maturity, or a culmination point in about six months from now when we have the Full Moon in Scorpio. 

 

Change can be disruptive and take place when you least expect it.  There may be something about what unfolds that is unexpected and it pushes us in new directions. 

 

This is likely to be a deep psychological time when we are asked to reach deep below the surface to uncover anything that has not been dealt with properly.  We may not like what surfaces, but it will be important to deal with it.  Watch for any form of violence or aggression, and do not put yourself in harm’s way.  Be especially careful when operating heavy machinery and when driving.  If by chance you get into an argument, do not take your aggression out while driving your vehicle. 

 

Check if this New Moon affects your chart.  For this New Moon to have an overriding influence in life, it should either be in conjunction with a planet or angle, or in opposition. Keep the orb of influence rather tight (no more than 3°).  Check also which houses are being influenced and how these other indicators might affect the overall picture of the potential in your chart particularly with what we have touched on in this post.

PLUTO TRINE ASCENDANT

The Natal Ascendant and its aspects clearly defines the way we represent ourselves especially when we first meet the general public. Much information can be gained when looking at the sign and aspects from other planets as to this angle. The transits of planets over the Natal Ascendant are quite remarkable and distinguishing. We cannot ignore the changes that take place on these occasions. Each planet will have its own definitive expressions and the outer planets carry with them the most significant emphasis on your life and behavior.

 

Today we are focusing on Transiting Pluto trine the Natal Ascendant.

 

Pluto can be quite subtle especially as it makes its way towards the Ascendant (being in the twelfth house), but as it makes contact, it becomes much clearer that changes and regeneration are at hand. Transformations are taking hold and even though a Trine aspect which is considered a favorable connection, what we experience is anything but subtle.

 

What needs changing will be changed and we will be forced to get to the bottom of anything that stands in the way of reform and transformation. It will take a couple of years for the whole process to unfold but it will be exactly as required.

 

There will not only be changes to you on a personal level and to the way you present yourself but there may be changes to your relationships, especially your partner, to your work, to the home and perhaps family as well (much will depend on the angle of the MC and its correlation to the Ascendant position).

 

You may change the way you look, deciding on a different haircut or color, changing your body shape, your health and how you relate to yourself.  This is usually in a positive sense. Who you were and how you represented yourself will likely go through massive changes.

 

This is the appropriate time to make changes that are necessary, and you likely had inclinations of the need for change previously. In most cases, we generally know what to expect but may not have been totally prepared for the outcome.

 

Again, this is a positive time for making changes and energies may flow easily. Your honest intensions can now surface. Trines indicate positive energy flow and opportunities. It is wise to listen to messages from deep within. Delve deep into who you are and the ways you represent yourself. Focus on improving things for the greater good, for not only yourself but also for others. Avoid ego interruptions and recognize that it is time for whatever is taking place.

PLUTO SQUARE NATAL SATURN

We are focusing on Transiting Pluto Square Natal Saturn

 

For those individuals with Transiting Pluto (which will soon enter Aquarius) squaring their natal Saturn this will be a time of transformation and change in life. Saturn moves through each sign over a period of approximately 2 ½ years. This suggests that those experiencing T Pluto square to their Natal Saturn would have to have their Saturn either in the late degrees Libra or early degrees Scorpio or Natal Saturn in the late degrees of Aries to the early degrees Taurus in their birth charts. Saturn would have been either in Scorpio beginning 1953, 1982, or 2012 or in Taurus beginning 1969 or 1999.

 

Pluto will be affecting these individuals for approximately 1 to 5 years depending on where their Natal Saturn is located. Much will depend on the houses involved (areas of life) and the natal positioning of Saturn in their charts (challenging or favourable aspects to Saturn).

 

There are no halfway measures about Pluto as it transits through the birth chart. It brings an end to outdated conditions that no longer serve a purpose and brings to birth something much more suitable to life’s current conditions. There will likely be quite a struggle for those experiencing this square in their charts, as Saturn enjoys what is familiar and does not like change or disruption to the norm. There may be restrictions and delays to the inevitable but over time (and this could take as much as 1-3 or 4 years for things to be understood and accepted) life will transform to a great degree.

 

Security might be part of the process and perhaps what we have been aiming towards and working diligently to obtain might be what this is about. Life structures will change and if Saturn in the birth chart is poorly aspected this will likely not be a pleasing time. There could be some difficulty moving out of what is comfortable into the new. This may not be clear in the present moment, especially if Neptune is part of the profile somehow.

 

Pluto will instigate change and often through rather dynamic ways. There may be issues with authority or ego disputes. Control and power issues will likely be part of what unfolds over time. There will be concerns about what this new turn of events will bring but Pluto moves you where you need to go. It opens the door for growth through underlying events or energies that push us in certain directions.

 

What was stable and secure now needs revamping or completely overhauling. After this timeframe is over, what was in place will no longer be part of the picture moving forward. In most cases, it is best to go with the flow and not to fight what is inevitable. Pluto’s influence is often subtle in the beginning and then as time passes it becomes more informative and ever present. Motivation is part of the process and life will take you to where you need to go.

PLUTO SQUARE JUPITER

We are focusing on Transiting Pluto square natal Jupiter.

 

T Pluto moves very slowly through the Zodiac, about 1° per year. Its impact is therefore quite significant as it will be in place for 3-5 years with its major aspect lasting at least one year. The outer planets are important because of their slow movement over positions in the natal chart.

 

Pluto is about transformation and regeneration and often produces some type of power struggle as changes take place. We might want to fight its energies, but in many cases, it is futile to attempt to control Pluto’s driving force. It is like swimming upstream when we know that sooner or later the current will take us downstream which is actually where we need to go.

 

Pluto will bring up anything that needs to surface and often makes us deal with parts of ourselves or life conditions that may not be overly pleasant or may be challenging to deal with. As with all the outer planets, especially Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, their energies are in place because we are at a point in time where we are ready for some type of advancement or awakening to take place. Transformations are at hand.

 

Jupiter is known as the greater benefic and often creates potential for growth, good fortune, advantageous situations and in general good luck and opportunities. In some cases, Jupiter, because of its expansive nature, can bring an end to situations that have been tormenting or in some cases brings an end to suffering. Much will depend on the houses connected to the positions of N Jupiter, T Pluto and the Natal positioning and aspects to Pluto.

 

The Square aspect is often a sign of struggle and obstacles to be overcome. The aspect creates tension and adversity which must be dealt with. It is a positive tool as, due to the strength of the challenge in place, we often feel we must deal with the challenge in our own appropriate manner. As a result, the square is a push to resolve issues.

 

E.g. If T Pluto was moving through your second house which involves finances and security measures, Jupiter which would be in say the fifth house, could suggest that there are issues pertaining to your children or perhaps a creative outlet now needs financial support. Because the fifth house also deals with romantic involvement, perhaps there needs to be some financial aid in place or perhaps this needs to be addressed on some level (because of the link with security and finances from second house). The rest of the chart will have to be taken into consideration before a complete conclusion can be reached.

 

Most likely, some transformation is in place and undoubtedly in a big way that will make you delve beneath the surface and deal with whatever hurdle has surfaced. This is an opportunity to see things as they are and make the necessary changes that need to be made. There is nothing halfway about these energies. They often signal something is coming to an end in order for something new to present itself, something that is needed now in life.

LUNAR ECLIPSE OCTOBER 2023

On October 28, 2023, we will be experiencing a Lunar Eclipse. In the Toronto area it will be a partial eclipse reaching maximum at 6:10 p.m. EST. The Penumbral Lunar Eclipse begins at 2:01 p.m. (not visible in our area) and ends at 6:26 p.m. (which will be close to the horizon in our area).

 

The Lunar Eclipse will occur at 5° in the sign of Taurus.

 

All eclipse’s suggest heightened energy and with the Lunar Eclipse, in particular, the energies suggest a time of releasing and endings. It operates like a super-charged Full Moon and will create major changes and the finality of what has been in play for approximately the past 6 months.

 

Because it is in the sign of Taurus (a fixed, earth sign) it often speaks of material or objective matters. You will need to go slow but be steady in your approach. This is not the time to rush into situations. Be practical and make sure that over-spending is not part of the scenario as you may want to buy expensive things on impulse or spend money when you likely should not.

 

When these energies are working well, although the Lunar Eclipse is attached to endings of some sort, there is often an advancing stage in the evolution of what is unfolding now in life. The area of life affected by this positioning will depend largely on where Taurus 5° is found in your birth chart (which house) as well as any planets in the natal chart or current transits that are affected by this position.

 

There is an opposition coming from Mercury and from Mars so in many cases this suggests that others are involved in the equation.  Taurus is a very sensual sign and perhaps some interchange with an individual has the potential to unfold or the relationship moves to its next stage. This could include an ending of sorts such as the end of a sexual union, or, perhaps on the other side of the coin, the end of a platonic relationship that morphs into a sexual relationship.

 

Oppositions are not overly pleasing exchanges, and some friction might be involved. This can be a time of great change but not without some type of hard work or interaction that is not unfolding in your favour. Others may play a clear part in what unfolds. Relationships of all kinds might be part of this.

 

The energies may take several months to completely unfold, but you will often notice that during the week or two prior and the first month following the eclipse is often the peak time for the experience defined by the positioning within the birth chart.

EVENT PLANNING

As our readers know, we always run deep, so when we refer to “event planning” we are not talking about planning a party or social gathering. You likely didn’t expect that anyway. We are referring to reflecting on life to this point and planning or implementing and maneuvering our way forward. The future will be event oriented; we can always count on that.

 

Reviewing your life’s road map so far, may provide an inclination as to where life might lead you next. Perhaps it has been about raising a family and building a future that will incorporate what is needed for times ahead. This may include financial planning, organizing your environment or working towards building a name for yourself in the corporate world, or it may be simply building on what is already in place.

 

Material living is important as we do live in a material world, even though you may feel that spiritual life is much more relevant than material sustenance. Spirituality is important but it is important that although our vision may be spiritual, we are also very connected to this worldly life. We are here and for a reason!

 

We can live day by day and not worry or be concerned about the future. Certainly, all we have is this very moment, in reality.  There is still everyday living which does incorporate the concerns connected to survival, health, financial security, etc.

 

No matter how important the material side of life is, in my opinion, spiritual connectedness is more relevant. Life in many ways looks after itself, but our evolutionary path is enhanced by the way we live our lives. If we are solely focused on material advancement or material “lacks”, this is what our life will be. If we are mindful and appreciative enough to put this focus on a less important priority so that we can work on ourselves first and foremost, then the focus moves in that direction and awareness takes place.

 

There is no escaping the reality of our material world, but we can purposely participate in the on-going process of self-enlightenment and spiritual evolution. If material wealth was so important, I personally believe we would be able to take that wealth with us when we transition.

 

No material benefits carries forward so these benefits are transient. What likely will matter as we prepare to pass over is who we are, how we have treated others, the love we have received and given (shared) and how far we have grown with enlightenment and clear understanding.

SUN IN SCORPIO 2023 TRANSITS

This post will focus on the months of October and November, 2023, for Sun in Scorpio.

 

This influence of planets on the Sun can speak of goals, and inner changes taking hold as well as other indicators depending on the placement of the Sun in your natal chart. E.g. If your Sun is in the 7^th house this can speak in terms of relationships of significance like your partner. If your Sun was in the 10^th house in the natal chart, this can speak about your career, your ambitions and life status, etc.

 

We will just look at the Conjunction and Opposition which has to do with Uranus. This aspect can last some time.

 

Uranus is currently at 22° in the sign of Taurus and in retrograde. It goes direct on January 27, 2024. It will remain in Taurus for some time and affect the individuals with their Sun in these degrees. Give a 5° influence (3° approaching and 2° in separation).

 

Uranus is about a sudden change of direction and a degree of awakening to what is taking hold in life. Its action is revolutionary and erratic although always moving you in the direction that is necessary for your current situation. It often brings something new and exciting into life and opens doors to what was not anticipated. Uranus is very unpredictable but very concise in its action, which can often be felt over a couple of days when it sits directly on your Sun. This action is influenced by and depends entirely on the house your Sun is in as well as the house T Uranus is passing through. Also, look at the position and aspects to your natal placement of Uranus as this will provide you with greater information.

 

When T Mercury is within range of these degrees which is within the first 10 days of November, your mind and pattern of thinking will run deep about these potential changes. You will likely understand at least to a degree why you have taken this route although in certain cases life moves you along rather than your having total control. If this is anything hidden or subdued, you may find some answers to why this route is now open for you to venture forth on. If by chance you are experiencing the Uranus opposition usually around the age 41-42 you may be going through massive changes that others may feel are totally unlike you to do.

 

T Mars will conjunct to this placement likely at the same time as Mercury and is then enhanced and stays in place until the middle of November, 2023. Mars will likely force its way forward and create action. If by chance, there have been challenging situations centered around issues that need resolution, you must watch for aggressive action. Mars and Uranus are both very concerned with movement and activity and together can carry quite a punch. Watch for aggressive action either on your part or coming from outside sources. The opposition often involves others.

 

This can be a time of a total change of direction, and you should be ready for change, especially if there are other indicators within the framework of your chart. Move ahead gently and know that life is leading to a certain extent, and you will understand much more when the air clears not too far in the future.

SUN IN SCORPIO

On October 23, 2023, the Sun moves from the Cardinal Air sign of Libra into the Fixed Water sign of Scorpio. We will speak primarily to those people with their Sun in Scorpio. On a different level this post can apply to those with their rising sign in Scorpio or for those with planets and/or MC in the sign of Scorpio.

 

The tendencies we will discuss will primarily have to do with Sun in Scorpio but as the T Sun moves through Scorpio and touches the other influences in the chart, it will have a much lessor impact but still have some affect in the areas of life indicated by the house position and the planetary energies indicated by the planets involved.

 

The Sun moves one degree per day so its influence in other placements besides the solar return (which speaks of the Sun coming back to its original placement in the natal chart) will only last for approximately 5 days. Its influence will likely be minor unless other planetary placements also enhance these positions.

 

Those with their Sun in Scorpio are deep and introspective individuals in general. They reflect on life and find meaning along the way by digging deep for the truth. They love the mysteries of life and love to find answers that lie under the surface. They are intense and often quite sensual. Their appetite for learning about the mystical side of life runs deep.

 

There is something mysterious about the average Scorpio individual and often they keep at least a portion of themselves private or hidden. They often are inclined however to know what goes on deep inside of others. Like Cancer and especially Pisces, they are feeling people and although they use their intellect to dissect life’s matters, they often go by instinct and their intense feelings. Quite often they know without being told. In some cases, this perceptive ability can make others uncomfortable. Scorpio individuals can find others who do not find it necessary to hide any part of themselves quite fascinating.

 

Scorpio may have a bad reputation for their sexual behaviors or for being sneaky or deceiving. Some Scorpios do have these characteristics, but in general, these latter type Scorpios are less evolved. This personality type is known as the scorpion while those with clear insight and intuitive perception are what is referred to as the eagle. Their insight can be profound, and when they learn to open up and not withhold the knowledge that they gain through life’s experience, they can open the doors for others seeking enlightenment.

 

Transiting Mercury will influence the transit of the Sun in Scorpio roughly to the end of October, 2023, enhancing the mind and communication techniques. Transiting Mars meets up with the Sun in the final stages of the Sun passing through Scorpio and Saturn will be in opposition to the early degrees of Scorpio, but we will touch on these influences in our next Astrology post.

PLUTO SQUARE MERCURY

As mentioned in a previous post Transiting Pluto went direct on October 11, 2023. Today we will While in retrograde, it might have made an aspect to your natal Mercury and now may return and make an aspect again.

 

Today, we will focus on Transiting Pluto square Natal Mercury.

 

If Pluto does make a square to your natal mercury and if this is the first contact by square you can think of this time as an intense period of re-evaluating the whole thinking process which might have you wondering about the knowledge you have accepted as truth for some time now.

 

Your ideologies and concepts may go through intense transformation under this aspect. Because we are speaking about the square aspect, this period (often long lasting) can not only be intense but also quite disruptive and challenging. Conflicts can arise about your beliefs and others may insist on changing your mind. At the very least, you should review your ideas. This is especially true if there are opposition aspects from other transits currently or oppositions to this point in the natal chart.

 

As mentioned, your thinking process is going through transformations, and this is a good time to review your belief structures and make sure they are built on solid foundations. It is most likely that you will experience changes that affect you in personal ways and that your pattern of thinking adjusts. This can apply to self-knowledge and the control you have in life because of your beliefs.

 

Don’t worry about what is taking place as you will find that although this might be a tumultuous period lasting about 2-3 years, the changes that are now taking hold will lead you to where you need to go. The thought process needed some challenges to push you out of complacency. Now you are ready to open doors that might otherwise have been closed due to closed mindedness or fixation from the past.

 

The outer planets, which seem somewhat fated, will push us ahead because change is now necessary. The actions because of their energies can be very disruptive, even causing conflicts and confrontations with others but the potential outcome from the challenges put us in a better position for moving forward.
